Roku Rousu Laitos
Roku “Riku” Rousu has spent decades bobbing in and out in northern Finland’s rock contortions. His former band Moses Hazy probably played to more people in China than any Finnish artist after Danny “Ilkka” Lipsanen—who once claimed that he performed to a billion viewers over there.
Now Rousu stands on his own, and the Laitos show is pure kinetic excess: he commands over a dozen crappy analog contraptions simultaneously, plays multiple spears, and sings like worry was outlawed. Captain Beefheart from an alternate future? Did someone mail-order a Portishead rip-off to the back of a Crazy Horse tour bus?
